John first began playing trumpet at a very young age and was later offered a music scholarship for trumpet to Ohio State University. Today he is recognized as one of Gospel Music’s most talented instrumentalist, and was nominated as one of the 2006 Top 5 Favorite Musicians by the subscribers of The Singing News Magazine, Southern Gospel Music’s leading fan and trade publication. John and his wife, Glenda, have three children and six grandchildren.
